43-year-old man remanded in Kirikiri Custodial Centre for allegedly defiling 12-year-old girl

An Ikeja Chief Magistrate's Criminal Court arrested a 43-year-old, Ayodeji Oderinu, at the Kirikiri Detention Center on Tuesday for allegedly defiling his neighbor's daughter.

Judge Mrs O. A Layinka ordered the defendant to be held in Kirikiri Detention Center until 22 December, on the recommendation of the Prosecutor's Office.

The defendant, who is unemployed, lives in the Igando area of ​​Lagos.

Previously Prosecutor, ASP. Ezekiel Ayorinde told the court that the crime was committed at the defendant's residence on September 25.

Ayorinde said that the defendant pulled a 12-year-old girl into her room, alleging that he sent her for a job.

The prosecutor also said that the accused had closed the door to her room and contaminated her; the girl then told her mother.

Ayorinde said the offense was against Article 137 of the 2015 Lagos State Criminal Code.
